Steve McGee pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Washington Generals, despite McGee's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Put-In-Bay Commodores at Washington Park. Jesús Milano closed it out for his 1st save. Washington drops to 0-2.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Christian Wade? The Put-In-Bay first baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Commodores on top, 2-1. For the game, Wade had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Afterward, Commodores manager Adrián Hernández was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
