Dolphins Fall Short, 3-2, at Barton Springs
|
Blues Field was the site of a competitive game between the Pine Island Dolphins and Barton Springs Blues.
The Barton Springs Blues faced a tough opponent in Pine Island pitcher Norris Miller, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Blues Field by a final score of 3-2. Miller went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Barton Springs reliever Katsunosuki Hirayama picked up the win, while Victor Jones took the loss for Pine Island.
Had Bruce Booth not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Booth hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Blues.
"Winning never gets dull," said Booth.
Pine Island drops to 5-5.
