In a low-scoring affair between the Providence Pilgrims and the St. Petersburg Thunder, pitcher Choon-mo Kim was the difference between victory and defeat. The Providence right-hander earned accolades in the 2-1 Pilgrims win. Juan Mermea earned save number 2 this season. St. Petersburg now has a record of 1-4.
Elvin Cook aided the Providence cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth. For the game, the pinch hitter drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate.
