Barton Springs pitcher Gijsbert van den Hombergh did his part in helping his team beat the Asheville Highlanders, 6-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Barton Springs goes to 3-1 with the win.

Wilton Meadows, the 26-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Meadows contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Barton Springs up, 2-0.
