Rails Snag 4-2 Win
|
Behind an impressive start by Grant Giles, Richland beat Arizona, 4-2. Frank Smith came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 6-3. The Rails now have a mark of 41-61.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, Yoshihide Arai's at-bat in the top of the ninth was vitally important. With one out, the Richland pinch hitter grounded out, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Richland manager George Sperber.
