Mercier Helps Loons Win, 4-3, with Pair of Homers
|
The Minnesota Loons turned back the Tacoma Fur Traders, 4-3, at Loony Bin. Antoine Mercier, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Reliever Michael Kilshaw picked up the win. His record improves to 4-5. Jean-Paul Jaffre took the loss. The last-place Fur Traders have dropped 4 straight games.
Mercier had an important at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the seventh, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Loons went on to win.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Mercier told the Minnesota Herald.
