Nationals Win Thriller, 2-1
|
Ottawa Nationals starter Dave Wilson turned in a top-notch performance against the Toledo Saboteurs at Nationals Park. The result was a win for the Nationals, 2-1. With the win, Ottawa raised its record to 56-44.
Ottawa won the game in the bottom of the 13th inning. With no outs and Miguel Ortíz on the mound for Toledo, catcher Brandon Smith hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Nationals fans to their feet.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Wilson said after the game.
