Rails Knock Off Fur Traders, 3-2
|
Richland Rails starter Jeffrey Fields was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Tacoma Fur Traders, 3-2. Fields got the win, improving to 2-6. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 5 innings. Fields allowed 1 run. Alfredo Maldonado collected save number 11.
The Rails got an important contribution from left fielder Blake Gordon, who in the bottom of the fourth knocked a 0-1 curveball into left for a solo home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Rails ahead, 2-1.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Fields told the Richland Herald.
With this game in the books, Richland is 34-58, Tacoma 32-60.
