Miners Topple Farmers, 5-1
|
Marquette took on Lancaster in front of a lively crowd.
The Marquette Miners beat the Lancaster Farmers by a score of 5-1. Marquette first baseman Jeffrey Dale deserved the lion's share of the credit. Dale went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Miners. The 8th-place Miners have a record of 37-49.
Dale had a key at-bat for Marquette early in the game. With a runner on 3rd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and gave Marquette an early 2-0 lead.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Lancaster manager Dave Davis. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
