Farmers Clip Rails in Tight Contest, 3-2
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Lancaster Farmers and Richland Rails.
Sung-oo O made an impact in the 3-2 Lancaster win over Richland. O, who is tied for 8th in the 3AA in bases on balls with 39, was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. Rodrigo Valderrábano came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record now stands at 5-6.
Lancaster used the timely hitting of Pat May to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Farmers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said May.
The win makes Lancaster 44-33.
