Nationals Squelch Eclipse Offense in Shutout Win
|
Ottawa used a superb performance from starting pitcher Felipe Hernández to down the Northville Eclipse, 5-0. Jurgen Helmer was called on to finish, recording his 5th save. Ottawa occupies third place in the Menard's AA at 43-28.
Ottawa took a 5-0 lead on Brandon Smith's 8th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Northville pitcher Arturo Gutiérrez in the top of the ninth.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Ottawa skipper Ismael González.
