Sixshooters Beat Fur Traders, 8-1
|
Westwood Sixshooters starter Gerry Wells had all his pitches working at Ballpark of Tacoma. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-1 Westwood win over the Tacoma Fur Traders. Wells went the distance for Westwood. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. With the victory, the Sixshooters record now stands at 44-25.
The Sixshooters got a lift from third baseman Javier Villanueva, who in the top of the fourth stroked a 1-1 fastball into center for a 2-run single. It was his 34th hit of the season and put the Sixshooters ahead, 2-0.
"I'll be honest," said Wells. "I was running on fumes at the end."
