Rails Prevail, 2-0, Over Ottawa
|
Richland starter Chang-ho Kim put a stranglehold on the Ottawa offense. The right-hander had complete command of his forkball in leading the Rails to a 2-0 win. Frank Smith was called on to finish, recording his 5th save. The Rails now have a record of 12-16 with the win over Ottawa.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Karsten Lips didn't flinch. With a runner on 1st and Ottawa trailing 1-0, Lips retired Tony Cordero to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Lips, with a wink.
