Extra-Inning Win by Miners Over Saboteurs
|
The Marquette Miners wiggled past the Toledo Saboteurs, 4-3, at Marquette Stadium. The win was highlighted by the performance of Marquette pitcher Ricardo Aguirre. Marquette is now 11-12, while Toledo is 10-13.
Marquette won the game in the bottom of the 17th inning. With one out and Dale Bailey on the mound for Toledo, shortstop Arnie Dunn hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Miners fans to their feet.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Jeremy Dennis.
