Ottawa got a strong outing from Claude Simon as the Nationals defeated the Westwood Sixshooters, 4-1, at Nationals Park. Simon, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Ottawa is off to a hot start at 13-6.
