Leviathan Rally For Late Win Over Stingers
The Nova Scotia Leviathan downed the Toledo Stingers, 7-5. The hitting star was center fielder Ron Burnett. Burnett was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk for the Leviathan. Da'wan Gaines got credit for the win, improving to 2-3. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. Jorge Valdéz closed it out for his 17th save.

Nova Scotia needed the clutch hitting of Vicente Mendoza to notch the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Leviathan on top, 7-4. For the game, Mendoza had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Mendoza. "But I have better dreams after a win."

The 10th-place Leviathan improved to 39-59.
