Nova Scotia Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
|
The St. Louis Coeur got a magnificent performance from pitcher George Law, who muffled the Nova Scotia offense en route to a tight 3-0 Coeur win at The Dungeon in Halifax. The winning pitcher was Law, now 8-4. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. Thad Parker earned the save for St. Louis, his 4th of the year.
The Coeur got a big boost from catcher César Hinojosa who had a run-scoring ground out in the top of the second inning off Leviathan hurler Joshua Dobson. It was his 27th RBI of the season and put St. Louis on top, 1-0.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said St. Louis manager Scott McMahon. "It's usually not just one thing."
St. Louis goes to 49-41, Nova Scotia to 37-53.
