Stingers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Rainbow Mermaids, 4-1
Atlantica was the site for Menard's Third League action featuring the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and Toledo Stingers.

The Toledo Stingers went home winners at Atlantica, thanks in large part to starter Ken Wright. Wright stifled the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, enabling Toledo to grab the 4-1 win. Wright went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 4, and struck out 5. His record improves to 8-8. The save went to Etana Nara, his 10th this season.

Toledo center fielder Roberto Gómez delivered a solo home run in the top of the eighth. Overall, he went 3 for 4, including 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 1.

"Ken -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Stingers manager TJ Reynolds. "He was the key to us winning."

Toledo is second in the Third League with a record of 51-35.
