The Nova Scotia Leviathan topped the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 7-1, in Menard's Third League action at The Dungeon in Halifax. The standout performance belonged to Nova Scotia pitcher and Peoria, Illinois, native Ben Frazier. The Leviathan go to 29-49, putting them 11th in the Third League.
Millard Blanchard contributed to the Nova Scotia win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 RBI.
"I know we have our doubters," said Northern Virginia manager David Lister. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
