Grey Wolves Earn 4-3 Win Against Knights
|
The Kingston Township Knights got a superb performance from pitcher Nick Long. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Vancouver. The Grey Wolves won the game, 4-3. Long threw 8.0 innings allowing 3 runs. Vancouver reliever Doug Owen got the win, raising his record to 3-3. George Atwater was tagged with the loss. Vancouver now has a record of 46-23 with the win.
The most important at-bat for Vancouver came in the top of the tenth inning, when shortstop Xavier Ortíz stroked a 2-1 fastball to left for a run-scoring single, putting Vancouver up, 4-3.
In postgame remarks, Ortíz simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
