Leviathan Earn 4-3 Win Versus Knights
|
Kingston Township got a decent performance from pitcher Seung Kim, but it wasn't enough to beat the Nova Scotia Leviathan. Nova Scotia won the Cloverdale Legion Park contest, 4-3. Kim threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Shinsui Kawaguchi picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Dick Hill was tagged with the loss. Picking up the save was Jorge Valdéz, his 8th.
Nova Scotia used the clutch hitting of A.T. Tappman to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Leviathan ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Tappman told the Nova Scotia News.
Nova Scotia, at 19-31, occupies 9th place in the Third League.
