Stingers Need Extra Innings to Top Divided, 7-6
Fans who congregated at Washington Stadium were treated to extra-inning drama.

The Toledo Stingers defeated the D.C. Divided, 7-6, in Menard's Third League action at Washington Stadium. Lester Threlfall pulled his weight. The 12-year veteran slugged 2 home runs. Joe Morris came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4 innings. His record now stands at 1-1.

Toledo needed the clutch hitting of Heikki Lahtela to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the 14th inning to put the Stingers on top, 7-6. For the game, Lahtela had 1 home run and 1 single in 7 at-bats.

In postgame remarks, Threlfall simply said: "Here's to a great win!"

The 4th-place Stingers are 26-16.
