Loons Losing Streak at 6 After Extra-Inning Loss to Miners
|
The Minnesota Loons got a superb performance from pitcher Michael Kilshaw, but the Marquette Miners still won the game, 4-3. Kilshaw came in in relief and pitched to 16 batters. Marquette is now 5-6.
The Miners procured the win, in large part because of designated hitter Bill Buchanan. In the bottom of the 13th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Buchanan told the Marquette Today. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
