Farmers Prevail, 5-4, Over Richland

Both teams had their chances, but the Lancaster Farmers eventually prevailed.
The Lancaster Farmers did just enough to sneak past the Richland Rails, 5-4, at Farmers Field. Lancaster catcher Henry Williams, in particular, had a standout performance. Dan Kent, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.2 innings.
Williams came through with some timely hitting for Lancaster. With Richland trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth, Williams hit a full count fastball for a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season made it 5-4, Lancaster.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Williams said.
With the win, Lancaster lifts its record to 3-0.
