Squirrel Monkeys Pull Off Thrilling 6-4 Win in Extras
The timely hitting of Martín Pliego helped the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys down the Ft. Myers Marlins, 6-4. Pliego was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Squirrel Monkeys. Bryce Poindexter, credited with the win, is now 3-3. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits. Syracuse, at 68-32, is 2 games up in the Silver AAA.

Pliego had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 1-0 fastball from Joe Horne, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Squirrel Monkeys a 5-2 lead. It was the 37th home run of the year for Pliego.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Pliego. "And not try to do too much."
