Red Pandas Fall Short, 3-2, at Pennsauken
|
The Pennsauken Flyers took Sioux Falls pitcher Robert Shirt's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Pennsauken Park. The final score had Pennsauken getting past the Red Pandas, 3-2. Shirt went 5 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 6. The 5th-place Flyers have a record of 44-47.
Vicente Torres, the Pennsauken left fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 2-1, Flyers. For the game, Torres went 1-4.
"This was a tough loss," said Sioux Falls manager Fred Leos. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
