Ft. Myers got a valiant performance from pitcher John Palmer, but it wasn't enough to beat the Tortolita Drummers. Tortolita won the game, 3-2. Palmer threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Tortolita is 6th in the Silver AAA with a record of 42-48.
Tortolita used the clutch hitting of James Gray to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Drummers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Every loss hurts," said Ft. Myers manager Marvin Nelson. "But this was a tough one."
