Black Mambas Come Up Short at Sacramento, 4-3
|
Dan Sanders pitched well, but his team, the Austin Black Mambas, still dropped a 4-3 decision to the Sacramento Redlegs at Sacramento Sanitation Station. The winning pitcher was Roberto Sánchez. He's now 7-5. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits for the Redlegs. Félix Hernández earned the save for Sacramento, his 20th of the year.
Paul Roberts drove in one run for Sacramento. The 23-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Dan Sanders. It was his 8th RBI of the season.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Sacramento manager John Brown.
At 32-50, the Redlegs find themselves in 9th place in the Silver AAA.
