Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Redlegs
The Sacramento Redlegs defeated the Ft. Myers Marlins, 4-2, in USSL Triple A action at League Park. Sacramento pitcher Ismael Mena had a standout performance. Mena got the win, improving to 5-5. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Mena allowed 2 runs. Félix Hernández picked up the save, his 18th.

Had Paul Roberts not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Roberts hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Redlegs.

"I liked his command," said Sacramento manager John Brown. "Ismael was throwing strikes."
