The Austin Black Mambas did just enough to sneak past the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 6-5, at Crane Field. Austin pitcher Graviel Azevedo, in particular, had a standout performance. The Black Mambas sport a record of 20-45.

The most important at-bat for Austin came in the top of the 17th inning, when right fielder Charlie Cummings stroked a 3-1 fastball to right for a run-scoring single, putting Austin up, 6-5.

In postgame remarks, Azevedo simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
