Drummers Snatch Late Win
|
The Tortolita Drummers trumped the Hartford Pride, 8-5, at Drummers Ballpark. Tortolita first baseman Cristián González was terrific. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Marc Potts was credited with the save for Tortolita, his 8th of the season. The Drummers saw their win-loss record go to 25-31. At the same time, the Pride fell to 30-26.
In the bottom of the eighth, González put his team in front with his 3rd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which came against Nicolas Gomes, made it 6-5, Tortolita.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Marcos Costa said.
