The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys picked up a win at Crane Field, courtesy of Jeff Morehead. The right-hander helped his team stop the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 3-2. Bryce Poindexter closed the door for Syracuse, picking up his 9th save of the year. Syracuse is now 33-22, Santa Barbara 23-32.

Syracuse used a well-timed hit by Martín Pliego to capture the win. The left fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

After the game, Syracuse manager Scott Garrison applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
