Golden Cranes Lose Late, 3-1
|
Hartford rode a good effort from starter Roger Raper to beat the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes at Crane Field. The final score was 3-1. Nicolas Gomes earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 7-1. Jeremy Bearimy earned the save for Hartford, his 14th.
Hartford used a clutch hit from Colm Goodwill to get the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Pride ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This was a tough loss," said Santa Barbara manager Doug Green. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
The Pride' win now puts them at 28-23.
