Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Flyers
|
The Pennsauken Flyers defeated the Ft. Myers Marlins, 6-3, at Pennsauken Park. Pennsauken left fielder Andrew McCaffery had a superb performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win was credited to Frank Cunningham in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Gary Norman took the loss. Paul Glover got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until McCaffery delivered big-time for Pennsauken, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Gary Norman. The game-changing hit put the Flyers on top, 4-3.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said McCaffery. "And not try to do too much."
The loss makes Ft. Myers 22-28.
