Big Day for Koch as Patriots Down Voodoo, 7-4
|
The Boston Patriots topped the New Orleans Voodoo, 7-4, with right fielder Fred Koch playing a big role. Koch was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 doubles, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Patriots in the win. Boston raised its record to 27-27 with the win.
Koch came through with some timely hitting for Boston. With New Orleans trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Koch hit a 1-2 fastball for a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season made it 5-3, Boston.
"We try to keep the mood light around here," said Koch. "Winning helps."
