Pride Park hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
The Milton Dogfish Head beat the Hartford Pride, 1-0, at Pride Park. Starting pitcher Alfonso Rodríguez was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Rodríguez got the win, improving to 5-2. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Rodríguez allowed no runs. Kelvin van Enk recorded the save, his 4th.
In the top of the seventh, Milton reliever Andrew Stockton hit a run-scoring single to right-center field. The clutch hit made it, 1-0, Dogfish Head.
"It feels good to get this one," Rodríguez told the Milton Times.
The Dogfish Head improved to a lofty 27-10.
