A good performance from third baseman Cristóbal Calzacorta helped the Milton Dogfish Head defeat the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, 6-1. Calzacorta went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 for the Dogfish Head. Juan Cruz was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts. Min Der, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 10th save.
The Dogfish Head got a big at-bat from center fielder Bernard Alonso. For the game, Alonso went 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Milton a 3-1 lead.
