Squirrel Monkeys Held in Check by Flyers, Lose, 1-0

Tommaso Cugnoni pitched well, but his team, the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, still dropped a 1-0 decision to the Pennsauken Flyers at Pennsauken Park. Pennsauken reliever Jorge Quiñonez was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Tommaso Cugnoni took the loss. Fred Tuffley earned the save for Pennsauken, his 2nd.
Yoshikazu Hashimoto broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the seventh with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Flyers in front, 1-0. For the game, Hashimoto drove in one run.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Hashimoto.
The third-place Flyers now have a win-loss record of 18-15.
