Drummers Beat Redlegs, 6-0
|
The Tortolita Drummers picked up a win at Drummers Ballpark, knocking off the Sacramento Redlegs, 6-0. Starting pitcher António Cisneros was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Cisneros, now 3-3. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. The 7th-place Drummers raised their record to 14-16.
Tied up with the Redlegs in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Drummers got a boost from center fielder Tony Hernández. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Hernández saw a 1-1 fastball from Gunnar Quinn and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Tortolita on top, 1-0.
"We had a good game plan," Cisneros said, "and we were able to execute it."
