The Boston Patriots had to overcome a good performance from Mississippi pitcher Teika Fukuda to claim a 3-2 win at Magnolia Park. Fukuda went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Picking up the win was Jorge Enríquez. He went 8.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 0. The Patriots move to 24-25 with the win, while the Mockingbirds drop to 26-23.
Boston needed the clutch hitting of Zhong-yi Yun to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Patriots on top, 3-2. For the game, Yun had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Boston manager Tyler Carter. "It's usually not just one thing."
