Syracuse rode a decent outing from starter Bill Strain to victory over the Kansas Rainbeaus. The final score was 6-4. Strain got the win, improving to 5-8. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. Strain allowed 4 runs. Isaac Patterson earned the save for Syracuse, his 11th of the year.
With two out in the top of the seventh, Silvio Capitanio had a game-changing hit. The Starks left fielder slammed a run-scoring single off Hugh Hudson, making the score 6-4, Syracuse.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Kansas manager Chan-koo Kim. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
The 9th-place Starks sport a record of 34-47.
