|
José Zamora never let Monongahela get something going. The Bakersfield right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Nobles to a 4-1 win. Zamora got the win, improving to 6-1. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Zamora allowed 1 run. David Sullivan locked down his 4th save.
The game could have flipped with no one out in the top of the sixth. But José Zamora made what his manager later called "an A-plus pitch." With runners on 1st and 2nd and Monongahela trailing 3-1, Zamora threw a curveball to Francisco Féliz and Féliz flied out.
The Premier AAA-leading Nobles are 53-21.
