Brass Earn 2-1 Win Versus Starks

The Syracuse Starks went down to defeat to Kevin Swanson and his Baton Rouge teammates. The final score was 2-1 in favor of the Brass. The win was credited to Mark Springer in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Georges Cormier took the loss. Melis Ooyendijk sewed up the save, his 10th.
Edmund Davis provided a timely hit. The Baton Rouge shortstop delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Brass on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
In comments to the Baton Rouge News, Davis insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
Syracuse's current losing streak is now 5 games.
