Monsters Earn 2-1 Win Versus Nobles
|
Bakersfield wasted a solid 6.2-inning effort from starting pitcher Miguel López, losing to Monongahela, 2-1, at Jerome Grounds. Kirby Perkins closed the door for Monongahela, picking up his 7th save of the year. The 4th-place Monsters raised their record to 27-27.
In the top of the ninth, Monongahela designated hitter Bartolo Foreman put his team on top. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit his 2nd double of the year. Bakersfield pitcher David Sullivan served it up. Just like that, the Monsters were ahead, 2-1.
"Every loss stings," said Bakersfield manager Jesús Román. "This one is no exception."
