Rainbeaus Pick Up 3-0 Win
|
The Kansas Rainbeaus got a magnificent effort from pitcher Jerry Collins, who kept Hialeah hitters in check en route to a 3-0 Rainbeaus win at Wichita Field. Collins went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-5. Kansas, with the win, is 17-37.
The Rainbeaus got a big at-bat from left fielder Qui-li Jin. For the game, Jin was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Kansas a 1-0 lead.
Afterward, Rainbeaus manager Chan-koo Kim was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
