Fighting Dachshunds Topple Blitzkrieg, 6-4
|
Getting offensive support from Al Stabb, the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds topped the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 6-4. Stabb was 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs for the Fighting Dachshunds. Jong-yun Chong, the winner, improved to 3-5. He held the Blitzkrieg to 2 runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Ellenburg now sits in last place in the Menard's AAA at 36-63.
The Fighting Dachshunds got an important contribution from center fielder Ernest Crane, who in the top of the fifth punched a 0-1 changeup into right for a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Fighting Dachshunds ahead, 3-1.
"Wish we'd had more wins to celebrate like this one," said Stabb.
