Starks Lose to Monsters in Walk Off
Luis Ávila did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Syracuse Starks from losing, 7-6, to the Monongahela Monsters at Timber Hawks Ballpark. Ávila went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. With the win, Monongahela pushed its record to 26-25.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the tenth. With Monongahela trailing 6-5, Brenton Hale hit a fastball from Joel Baxter to right for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Monsters had a walk-off win.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Hale.
