The Monongahela Monsters had to overcome a fine performance from Kansas pitcher Gerjan Muijen to grab a 3-2 win at Wichita Field. Muijen allowed no runs over 7.1 innings. With the win, Monongahela pushed its record to 23-22.

Monongahela used the clutch hitting of Ramón Marino to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Monsters ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"If you ever get this game figured out," said Kansas manager Chan-koo Kim, "let me know."
