Lake Monsters Take Nail-Biter Over Rocks
|
Danny Dillard was in top form in a low-scoring contest between Vermont and Plymouth. The Lake Monsters right-hander helped his team beat the Rocks, 1-0. Reliever Troy Charles Jr. picked up the win. His record improves to 3-2. Tony Figueroa took the loss. Vermont has 3 straight wins, Plymouth 3 straight losses.
In the bottom of the 11th, Andreas Boerboom had a chance to deal the knockout blow. And he did, punching a run-scoring sacrifice fly to left off Plymouth pitcher Tony Figueroa.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Vermont manager Dylan Smith.
