The Monsters grabbed a win, 3-2, at Wichita Field, overcoming a fine effort from Kansas pitcher Zhong-shu Ang. Ang went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs. Kirby Perkins nailed down his 5th save. The Monsters improved to 21-22.

José Mercado provided a timely hit. The Monongahela designated hitter delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Monsters on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"We were in it," said Kansas manager Chan-koo Kim. "We just didn't score enough runs."
